Want to work in community sport? GippSport is looking for highly motivated people to be employed on a casual basis to help deliver our community social sport programs.
Social sport includes more flexible, fun and less-structured opportunities to participate in physical activity with less emphasis on performance, results and competition. Social sport can also be used to introduce someone to a new sport, or to bring people back to sport. It’s not about competition, rules or memberships, it’s about finding an activity that helps people move and become more active.
Providing and supporting the development and delivery of social sport programs and opportunities is a key strategy to achieving GippSport’s aim of improving the health and wellbeing of the Gippsland community through physical activity. To this end we are working with local clubs, community groups, and workplaces to provide flexible opportunities to get active and are searching for suitable persons to deliver these opportunities across the following key programs:
o Pop up, fun and informal doorstep sport where we bring sport closer to where youth live, work & study delivered at the right time, in the right style at the right place to engage young people not engaged in the traditional community sport system.
As part of your role, you may be working with young people, some of whom may be vulnerable. It is your obligation to always ensure their safety and report any concerns that you have, in line with GippSport’s duty of care obligations. You will be required to regularly provide the necessary working with children, police records and reference checks.
