Three bowlers, Jess Livingston, Aaron Boscombe-Hill and Robert Smith, from the Latrobe Valley Tenpin Association attended the Tenpin Bowling Victoria – Disability Championships held in Frankston over the weekend of 5-6th October 2013.
The event was highly attended with approximately 60 Bowlers from all over the state. Athletes with a wide range of disabilities participated Intellectual disability, Amputees, Vision Impaired and the Deaf athletes were represented. Bowlers were divided according to ability not disability with each division being based on average scores.
The competition was well organised and ran smoothly. With a very high standard of bowling displayed by all competitors. Gippsland was well represented with our three bowlers performing exceptionally well.
- Jess Livingston, 2nd in B grade Females
- Aaron Boscombe-Hill, 1st in C grade Males
- 1st in “All Events”
- Won the Ray Allen All-stars Medal
- Robert Smith, 1st in A grade Males
- placed highly in Doubles, Teams and “All Events”
Further to these great individual placings Aaron was selected to be part of an eight person team to represent Victoria in the Cole Cup which will be held in Tasmania in June 2014. Robert was selected for an eight person team representing Victoria in the Nationals which will also be held in Tasmania in June 2014.
