Following the hype of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, and recognising the Latrobe Valley’s interest in competitive ballroom dancing, DanceSport Victoria is delighted to present this State’s newest DanceSport competition – the Latrobe City DanceSport Classic 2015. DanceSport is the term now used to refer to what was formerly known as Ballroom Dancing. This glamorous and exciting leisure activity has been renamed to suit its modern image as a demanding sport.

Its characteristics consist of physical strength, agility, co-ordination, stamina, high level of
fitness, discipline, teamwork, grace, style and musical interpretation. It is now recognised by the
International Olympic Committee as a sport and is expected to eventually be included in the Olympic program.

Latrobe Valley – Traralgon Sports Stadium | Saturday May 2 Following the hype of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, and recognising the Latrobe Valley’s interest in competitive ballroom dancing, DanceSport Victoria is delighted to present this State’s newest DanceSport competition – the Latrobe City DanceSport Classic 2015.

This exciting event will be held at the Traralgon Sports Stadium, easily accessible to everyone in the Valley and perfect for the Latrobe Valley’s inaugural major DanceSport event. Radio celebrity Mat Cummins of TRFM will be compering the night, which will be staged with all the glitz and glamour you would expect from ballroom dancing.

Special ticket prices
Prices are set at $5 for children, $10 for seniors and $15 for adults. This is exceptionally low for an event of this calibre. There are table tickets available too.  Such is the excitement around this event, we are already expecting more than 100 top level competitors from Melbourne to attend.

The ticket prices have been kept to an absolute minimum to ensure as many people as possible can attend. We want everyone to come along and enjoy this, the Valley’s own DanceSport event.
This special pricing has been made possible by the level of support for and sponsorship of this event.

Tickets can be obtained online from www.latrobecity.dance/tickets, or by contacting Meagen Alderton on 0424 136 246 or info@latrobecity.dance)
