ABC Takeover Latrobe Valley is Here!

The ABC’s Takeover Latrobe Valley is a fantastic opportunity for young people in the Valley to have their voices heard on the ABC and in their local community. In collaboration with the Office for Youth, VicHealth, and the Foundation for Regional & Rural Renewal (FRRR), the ABC has brought together passionate, inspiring young people from the region to share their unique stories with the community and the nation.

Over 30 high school students from across the Latrobe Valley LGA worked closely with ABC producers to have their personal stories featured on the ABC. These young storytellers are also participating in the Takeover Youth Summit happening this week from September 16-20. The 35 winners have courageously shared their experiences, touching on important themes such as culture, identity, personal passions, and the challenges they’ve overcome.

The Summit provides a valuable platform for these young leaders to present their stories and collaborate on initiatives that will inspire positive change within their communities.

You can explore the incredible stories of all 35 participants here: ABC Takeover Latrobe Valley.

GippSport is proud to be involved in the ABC Takeover Latrobe Valley as a key ambassador. We are excited to guide a dedicated group of young participants in co-designing a meaningful community project. Our role focuses on fostering personal growth, learning, and leadership development among these inspiring youth. We are looking forward to the upcoming Youth Summit and are eager to collaborate with the young people as they take the next steps toward creating impactful projects that will benefit the wider community.
