News

Bellbird Park’s first Hub meeting

Thank you to those who attended Wednesday night’s first hub round table. I was really pleased with the open, honest, positive and productive conversations we engaged in.

For those who were unable to make it, here’s a snapshot of what was discussed:

  1. Hub Updates, Challenges and Wins
    • Signing Six Clubs to the hub
    • The hard work done to get Winter Seasons underway
    • Training sessions
    • The new Admin Hub page on the GippSport Website
This page features recorded versions of training, recources, information about upcoming events and more. Be sure to bookmark it and check in regularly.
  1. Sport 4 All
    • Attending Clubs began their Sport 4 All journey by completing a 5 minute survey on the Sport 4 All Website: https://sport4all.com.au/for-clubs/
    • For clubs who were not in attendance, please complete the survey, and if you have any questions about Sport 4 All, please reach out!
  2. Game Plan
    • Attendees registered of logged into their Game Plan account to see resources and reporting tools for their club.
    • Game Plan allows multiple club representatives to access these tools, so I would encourage all committee members to reach this flyer and log into their Game Plan account.
  3. GippSport Presentation: Running Efficient and Effective Committee Meetings
    • You’ll find a recording of this training session on the Admin Hub page (this page).
  4. Fundraising Spotlight
    • The ‘Add-On’:

Running an event, fundraiser, gameday, etc.?

Every event is an opportunity for an ‘add-on’ fundraiser.

This could be a raffle or silent auction, food and drink sales, promoting tickets to the next event, donations or many other ways.

Add-on fundraisers can be low cost and require minimal volunteer staff. They may even be opportunities for teams to run their own smaller fundraisers as part of the club’s bigger fundraiser – eg. team raffles at a club trivia night.

Consider ways that your club can use an ‘add-on’ to fundraise.

  1. Grants
    • Baw Baw Shire Community Grants are opening soon.
    • Up to $5,000 is available.
    • I would like to apply for each organisation on your behalf.
    • Please reach out to me ASAP (trevor@gippsport.com.au) with some ideas of projects, programs, equipment or other things your club is interested in accessing this money for.
    • Community Grants Program – Community Projects
  2. Volunteer Presentations
    • We’re lucky to have a skilled and experienced group of volunteers involved in clubs in the Drouin area, so I’m encouraging volunteers to deliver a short presentation at our next hub meeting in the area of their expertise.
    • If you are interested in delivering a presentation, or know someone at your organisation who would be great at sharing their knowledge, please reach out to me: trevor@gippsport.com.au
  3. Tackling Vaping in Community Sport
    • Sejla from ADF delivered an informative and incisive presentation on vaping.
    • I would encourage all club members to register for her online webinars where she will be presenting on the same topic: Tackling Vaping in Community Sport Webinar
    • Make sure you register fast – the first 7 people who register and participate in the workshop will receive a $100 Rebel Sport Voucher to use for the club (limited to one voucher per club).
  1. Feedback and Suggestions

Keep your eyes peeled for our next training session or hub meeting!
