New Disc Golf Course Opens at Mathison Park, Churchill

Family-Friendly Disc Golf Now Open in Churchill

Mathison Park in Churchill now features a brand-new 18-hole disc golf course, offering the community a fun, inclusive, and accessible way to get active outdoors. Designed for all ages and abilities, the course provides a relaxed environment where families, friends, students, and community groups can enjoy movement, connection, and fresh air.

Disc golf is simple to pick up, flexible, and social. Players throw flying discs toward metal baskets along a scenic course that winds through the park, allowing everyone to play at their own pace and enjoy the natural surroundings. It’s a great way for beginners to try something new and for experienced players to enjoy a friendly challenge.

The park itself makes for a wonderful outing, with a new playground, picnic facilities, BBQs, shelters, walking paths around Lake Hyland, and accessible amenities, creating opportunities for play, relaxation, and social connection for all. Flying discs are available for hire at Latrobe Leisure Churchill, or visitors can bring their own and start playing immediately.

Whether you’re looking for a casual day outdoors, a chance to connect with friends or family, or an opportunity to try a new activity, Mathison Park’s disc golf course offers it all. It’s more than a sport, it’s a place to explore, engage, and enjoy your community. Grab a disc and head down to Mathison Park to discover your new favourite way to stay active and connected.
