Between Games: Ep 7. Player Management

GippSport Program coordinators Ryan Evans and Amelia Evison discuss player management and keeping active, with special guest Drew Sherman from Melbourne Victory and Gippsland running local, Tony O’Connell.

Our Guest

Drew Sherman

Drew is the General Manager of Technical and Academy at Melbourne Victory Football Club. Drew arrived at Melbourne Victory, last year, with a wealth of experience in youth development programs and coaching, having held coaching and management positions in academies at Everton, Wolves, Aldershot, Crawley and Southampton in England and, more recently, Brisbane Roar in the Hyundai A-League.

Upcoming online session with Melbourne Victory:
Latrobe Valley Online Forums
Join W-League Head Coach Jeff Hopkins as he discusses his insights into coaching junior footballers. 28 May: 6pm-7pm

Tony O'Connell

Tony, who is also known more informally as TOC, hails from Cape Paterson, down in the Bass Coast Shire, and is a very accomplished long-distance runner. His running feats leave me astounded – he has completed many ultra-marathons; he has run around Australia once in the “Run Down Under” and has completed a 100km trail run along the Great Ocean Walk with fellow GippSport staff member, Michelle Harris.

Between Games is designed to support community sport as another avenue for volunteer club administrators to gain some valuable information on club development, up to date sport and recreation information as well as relevant and topical issues. Proudly presented by GippSport, a Regional Sports Assembly in Gippsland, Victoria, Australia.
