Child Safe Standards Workshops

New laws relating to the safety and protection of children, within sporting clubs, came into effect on the 1 January 2017.

The Child Safe Standards are a response to the 2012 Betrayal of Trust Inquiry and they apply to all sporting organisations that operate in Victoria and provide sporting services to anyone under the age of 18 years.

As this is legislation this is not an option for clubs, it is a must, and clubs must act to meet the Child Safe Standards requirements.

GippSport is running a number of workshops across Gippsland which will help clubs understand the seven Child Safe Standards and the actions that a club needs to take to implement them.

3 May – Bairnsdale (Boolarumah Function Room, Bairnsdale City Oval)
