GippSport Brings Inclusive Fun to the Latrobe Sport, Recreation and Movement Expo!

Get ready to move, play, and connect as GippSport joins the Latrobe City Sport, Recreation and Movement Expo on Sunday, 2 February 2025! Held at the Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium from 10 am to 2 pm, this event is all about exploring fun ways to stay active, try something new, and connect with your community. Whether you’re looking to discover a new activity, meet local clubs, or simply enjoy a playful day out, this Expo has something for everyone.

GippSport is excited to showcase some of our most inclusive and playful programs at the Expo. Here’s a glimpse at what you can look forward to:

Come & Try All Abilities Boccia

Inclusion and fun are at the core of everything we do at GippSport. Join us at 10:45 am for a Come & Try session of All Abilities Boccia, a strategic and engaging activity for people of all abilities. It’s the perfect chance to try something new and see how sport can bring people together in a fun and relaxed way.

GippSport Club Support

Learn how we support local sports clubs to create welcoming and inclusive environments. At our stall, you can discover resources like Play Well workshops, gender equity action plans, and tips on engaging women and girls in sport. Let us help your club foster a culture of play and connection.

Play Well

Discover how GippSport’s Play Well initiative is making sports more inclusive and enjoyable for everyone. From fostering positive cultures at clubs to engaging women and girls in sport, Play Well provides practical support to create safe and welcoming environments. Stop by our stall to chat about gender equity action plans, Summer Orange Round resources, and upcoming workshops aimed at supporting local clubs. Learn more about Play Well here.

Kiddo Gippsland

Our Kiddo Gippsland program is perfect for kids aged 2-5, helping them build confidence and movement skills through fun, active play. Stop by our stall or join the Come & Try Kiddo session at 10:45 am to see how we inspire little ones to move their bodies and enjoy playful activities.

Rec-Rev Youth Activation Zone

Calling all young people! The Rec-Rev Zone is the ultimate spot for fun and games, featuring inflatable axe throwing, giant games, a photo booth, and interactive activities run by CMY. Visit the Rec-Rev stall to explore creative and non-traditional ways to play and stay active.

Sport 4 All

Discover how Sport 4 All is breaking down barriers to ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate in sport and play. Join us for the Come & Try Wheelchair Basketball session at 11:15 am, or visit our stall to check out accessible sporting equipment and learn about inclusive opportunities in Gippsland. We’ll also have brochures and flyers with all the details you need to get involved.

The Expo promises free food, fun-filled stalls, and Come & Try sessions for a variety of activities, including gymnastics, badminton, hockey, and pickleball. Supported by VicHealth, this event celebrates the joy of movement, play, and community.
