Dan Poynton, EO of GippSport passionately shared, “We’re excited to team up with Sport4All to bring this award winning program to Gippsland. Everyone deserves the chance to experience the joy and benefits of sport, and this is the leading program to help clubs and schools create welcoming & inclusive environments for people with disabilities. We really encourage clubs and schools to get in touch with us to explore the program with our support.”
Jeremy O’Sullivan, Sport4All State Manager, echoed the remark “Sport4All is excited to partner with GippSport to support their local sporting community to be inclusive and create safe and welcoming environments for people with disability. GippSport play a vital role in Gippsland, already supporting various disability sporting programs and educating community sport clubs on the benefits of being inclusive and welcoming to all. With an estimated 33,000+ people who will identify with some form of disability in Gippsland, the opportunity sport plays with connecting people with disability with their community is so important. About Sport4All:
Sport4All is a multi-award-winning program with national recognition, dedicated to enhancing inclusivity in sports by working with and supporting local sporting clubs, schools, and communities to embrace diversity and create opportunities for people with disability. Our purpose is to drive a positive change in grassroots sport across Australia. We partner local councils with their own Inclusion Coach, who then work together to help provide their community sports clubs and schools with the tools needed to build the curiosity, skills and confidence to include people with disability when, where, and how they choose. The trailblazing program was brought to life through a collaboration between the Australian Government, the Australian Sports Commission, and former Australian of the Year, Dylan Alcott AO’s consultancy, Get Skilled Access. As a Disability-Owned Business Enterprise (DOBE), Sport4All’s inclusive sports program sees people with disability and people with lived experience of disability help manage the program and further promote sport inclusion in Australia.
