Water Polo Victoria and the NYP Dragons are joining forces with the local aquatics community to bring a Water Polo Gala Day to the Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre in Traralgon.
Happening on Saturday 11 July 2026, this afternoon event is all about giving kids, teens, and families a fun, low-pressure introduction to water polo. It’s also the first step in building a proper water polo hub for the region, giving local kids a real pathway into the sport.
Here’s what’s on offer:
Flippaball Sessions: Dedicated pool space will be allocated for Flippaball, a modified, shallow-water version of water polo. It is safe, easy to learn, and tailored for children of all swimming abilities.
“Come and Try” Access: These Junior sessions offer a welcoming, low-pressure enviroment for beginners to learn foundational skills, stay active, and connect with peers during the school holidays
Premier Regional Facility: The event utilizes the top-tier spaces at the Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre, ensuring a safe, high-quality experience for all participants.
