Nominations open – 2017 Victorian Premier’s Volunteer Champions Awards

Nominations for the 2017 Victorian Premier’s Volunteer Champions Awards are now open, closing 5pm Monday 14 August 2017.

The broad array of volunteering that takes place in Victoria is inspiring and the Awards celebrate volunteers across all ages and from all walks of life, and the wide range of services, activities and support they provide to Victorian people, communities and causes.

To highlight the significant number of volunteers, and the variety and impact of volunteering effort across the State, the Awards will formally recognise up to 60 volunteers across four categories:

  • Leadership – recognising the value of exceptional influence and leadership from those who motivate, encourage and guide others to empower people and their communities
  • Impact – recognising people who have made a significant and positive impact, and whose contribution will have a lasting effect
  • Service – paying tribute to community-minded people who have made persistent and selfless contributions
  • Teamwork – celebrating the power of collaboration, and demonstrating that effective, consistent group effort can achieve greater outcomes.

Award recipients, their nominators and guests will be invited to a celebration and ceremony in December 2017 in Melbourne. The Premier’s Volunteer of the Year, Dame Elisabeth Murdoch Award, will be chosen from recipients across all categories and announced at the Awards ceremony.
