Stride into Sport is back at GippSport

GippSport is excited to be working together with Regional Sport Victoria (RSV) to bring back our popular Stride into Sport campaign ahead of the upcoming winter sporting season.

The campaign, which first commenced 18 months ago, is designed to help our sporting clubs boost player, volunteer, coach, and umpire/official registrations.

We know how difficult it has been for our local clubs and for State Sporting Organisations to attract mass numbers back into the fold since COVID-19, and the program has grown to help shine a light on local opportunities.

That’s why we are teaming up with several new and previous Victorian sports to help you all #strideintosport over the coming months and get active within your community.

GippSport encourages Gippslander’s of all ages to get involved and embrace the vital social connection and community aspect of winter sports.

“The winter sport season has commenced down here in Gippsland, its been fantastic to see so many people striding back into sport already.  It has been really pleasing to see so many clubs promoting their participation and volunteering opportunities already, and I’d strongly encourage all of our Gippsland clubs to get involved with the campaign so we can enable more people the opportunity to enjoy the social connection benefits of being involved in a sports club!” said GippSport Executive Officer, Dan Poynton.

The 2024 Stride into Sport winter campaign will have a particular focus on promoting volunteers to return to sport, made possible through a grant jointly funded by the Australian and Victorian governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.

“There are so many ways to get involved in winter sport and active recreation, whether it be on the field or volunteering behind the scenes,” RSV Executive Officer Meghan Mayman said. “Stride into Sport shines a light on these opportunities and the many benefits of being part of your local club. Thank you to GippSport and participating SSAs for helping us inspire more Victorians to take the next strides into sport.”
