Session 1 · Open to Everyone

Open Mixed Session
10:00am – 11:30am
  • Who: Open to all — all ages, all abilities, all genders welcome
  • Where: Warragul Leisure Centre, 21 Burke St
  • Equipment: Sports chairs and all equipment provided on the day
  • Cost: Free — no charge at all

Session 2 · Women & Girls Only

Women & Girls Session
11:30am – 1:00pm
  • Who: Dedicated session for women and girls of all ages and abilities
  • Where: Warragul Leisure Centre, 21 Burke St
  • Equipment: Sports chairs and all equipment provided on the day
  • Cost: Free — no charge at all

What to Expect

Both sessions are designed to be fun, welcoming, and accessible for everyone. Here’s what you can look forward to when you arrive at the Warragul Leisure Centre:

Sports Chairs Provided

No need to bring anything — sports wheelchairs will be supplied and fitted for you on arrival.

Learn the Skills

Our coaches will walk you through the basics — movement, ball-handling, and shooting — in a friendly, no-pressure environment.

Sports Chairs Provided

Enjoy games and drills designed for all ability levels — from complete beginners to those with prior experience.

All Abilities Welcome

Wheelchair basketball is for everyone — you don't need a disability to participate. Come as you are!

Expert Facilitation

The session is facilitated by Basketball Victoria with experienced coaches and volunteers on hand throughout.

Completely Free

Both sessions are 100% free of charge. Just register, show up, and enjoy the game!

FAQs

Do I need a disability to attend?

Not at all! Wheelchair basketball is a sport for everyone. People with and without disabilities are encouraged to come along, try a sports chair, and enjoy the game together.

What do I need to bring?​

Just yourself! Sports chairs, basketballs and all necessary equipment will be provided on the day. Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes.

Do I need any experience?​

No experience is needed at all — these sessions are designed for complete beginners. Coaches will guide you through everything from scratch at a pace that suits you.

Can I attend both sessions?

The Open Mixed session is open to everyone. The Women & Girls session is a dedicated women and girls only space. Please register separately for each session you wish to attend.
