Program Officer: East Gippsland, Wellington & Latrobe
Part / Full time (0.8 -1.0 EFT negotiable)
Due to an internal promotion, an exciting opportunity exists to join GippSport as part of our Place Based team working across various offices including Traralgon, Sale & Bairnsdale.
This recently vacated position will contribute to the development, implementation, coordination and delivery of programs and projects across East Gippsland, Wellington & Latrobe Council areas.
Through collaborative working with our key partners in the sport, active recreation and community development sector across Gippsland we will implement actions identified through our SRV Together More Active Funding and the VicHealth Regional Sport Program and other key funding arrangements.
This opportunity is ideal for an individual with experience and is looking to develop in sport & recreation program delivery, project management, stakeholder engagement and with an overall passion for sport and active recreation.
Duties include:
- Provide support to the Manager and Program Coordinator’s related to the delivery and reporting on GippSport’s funded work plans.
- Support the Manager and Program Coordinator to develop, report and work within the program budget.
- Assist in developing, building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders throughout the life of projects ensuring stakeholders are fully involved and engaged in our programs through high quality professional communication.
- Facilitated participation and physical activity opportunities for a diverse range of people, through both direct delivery and enabling community led activities.
- Build the capability of the community sport sector through a range of measures with a focus on increasing the number of:
- Coaches
- Umpires & officials
- Sport administrators & volunteers.
- Identify key issues, gaps, and development opportunities across the Gippsland sport and recreation sector.
The position will require travel across East Gippsland, Wellington & Latrobe to facilitate after hours programs and meetings including some weekend work. GippSport offers flexible working arrangements to ensure we meet the needs of our staff and the community that we serve.
