Caitlyn Jones from the Omeo Benambra Football Netball Club has won the 2017 GippSport Most Disciplined Player Scholarship for Girls.
Caitlyn was nominated by her club for her contribution on and off the netball court. According to her coach Sandi Beltrame, she is a great role model for her Junior Netball team mates. “Caitlyn is always very helpful and energetic both at training and game days. She helps other mums and older people by baby –sitting the toddlers so they can train and play. She is a most considerate team and community person in all areas,” said Sandi.
Caitlyn was presented with a scholarship to the value of $400 at an assembly at the Omeo Primary School on Thursday. The Omeo Benambra Football Netball Club also received a cheque for $100 for providing the nomination. “GippSport is very keen to promote young people like Caitlyn who not only participate in sport, but also make a contribution off the field of play. Her parents, club and school are justifiably proud of her. It was great that the club found the time to nominate her,” said Barry.
GippSport, Victoria Police and McDonald’s Family Restaurants combine to make the Most Disciplined Player program possible for junior sporting clubs in Gippsland. Clubs are encouraged to join this free weekly program and are encouraged to provide nominations for this scholarship on an annual basis.
