Community Programs Coordinator
Full or part time (0.8–1.0 EFT, negotiable)

Traralgon office, travel across Gippsland
Two new state-funded programs are landing in Gippsland this year, and we need someone to help drive both. Alongside this, you’ll support our broader community programs work, from Sporting Schools to local government activations.
- Lead delivery of two flagship programs: Kiddo x Myli libraries, and Ultimate Victoria frisbee development
- SCHADS L3 $80,006.68 per annum pro rata, plus 12% superannuation and 17.5% leave loading
- Based from our Traralgon office, with regular travel across Gippsland
- Join a small, fun team doing genuinely impactful work across Gippsland
The role
The Community Programs Coordinator works alongside our Manager: Programs and Partnerships to make sure our community program suite is delivered well, and that every funded program meets its contractual deliverables and objectives.
Two programs sit at the core of this role:
- Kiddo x Myli libraries: newly secured VicHealth Growing Healthy Communities funding to expand Kiddo, our play-based early years program, into libraries across Gippsland in partnership with Myli.
- Ultimate Victoria partnership: a shared workplan with Ultimate Victoria to grow ultimate frisbee participation across the region.
You’ll also support GippSport’s broader community programs portfolio, including our Sporting Schools delivery and local government area activations, working alongside our place-based coordinators.
What you'll do
- Work with stakeholders and communities to implement place-based sport and recreation programs, including Kiddo and ultimate frisbee
- Build the capacity of coaches, deliverers and participants across our program suite
- Support promotion and marketing of programs, and deliver sessions yourself where required
- Liaise with Myli, Ultimate Victoria, local councils and community organisations to identify and act on programming opportunities
- Maintain accurate program records and reporting to meet funder timelines and KPIs
- Represent GippSport at relevant meetings and LGA networks
About you
- Experience coordinating sport, recreation or community programs, with genuine outcomes to show for it
- Comfortable working with diverse stakeholders, from libraries and councils to sporting clubs and community groups
- Strong organisational skills and the judgement to manage multiple, sometimes competing, priorities
- Confident with Microsoft Office, reporting systems and social media for business use
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or substantial experience in sport development, health promotion or community development
- Current Victorian driver's licence, and current (or willingness to obtain) Working with Children Check and National Police Check

GippSport is the peak body for community sport in Gippsland, one of nine Regional Sports Assemblies across regional Victoria. We work with clubs, councils, health services and community organisations to build a more active, healthy and inclusive Gippsland through sport and active recreation.
