Doing Sport Differently: Ladies Squad Tennis

Ladies Squad Tennis is a partnership between VicHealth, Gippsport and Bionic Tennis and aims to increase participation in the sport of tennis, especially of women and girls. This was achieved through the deliverer acknowledging that physical activity is not always about competition and addressing this through implementing a social sports program where social connection, and enjoyment, are the key priorities.

VicHealth is a long-term partner of GippSport, and this project is a great example of implementing the Doing Sport Differently principle 4 – The deliverer is the most vital person to participants’ experience and retention.

“We want everyone to feel comfortable and welcome to be active in their community. VicHealth is excited to support GippSport to provide more diverse and social activities in Longford,” said VicHealth CEO Dr Sandro Demaio.
