GippSport Launches Exciting New initiative!
Local sports clubs in Drouin are set to benefit from an exciting new initiative aimed at reducing volunteer workload and fostering collaboration. GippSport has launched the Regional Sports Administration Hub Project, with funding secured through the Victorian Government’s Sustainable Volunteer Workforce Program.
This pilot program is exclusively available to selected clubs in the Drouin area, with the Bellbird sports precinct identified as an ideal location. Participating clubs will receive dedicated administrative support from Trevor Priest, GippSport’s newest Sports Administrator, as well as assistance from the broader GippSport team.
The increasing demands on volunteers can be challenging for many clubs. The Community Administration Hub Program offers a practical solution to volunteer burnout by providing hands-on administrative support.
GippSport will work closely with clubs to provide essential support with club administration, training, and management, taking on some of the more complex and time-consuming tasks that often overwhelm volunteers. Utilising sports administrators can allow clubs to exceed their goals without placing additional stress on volunteers.
The program also aims to strengthen relationships between clubs, encouraging collaboration and shared resources to create a more sustainable and connected sporting community. Our team is looking forward to facilitating conversations between clubs that will help volunteers pass on their knowledge to those around them, and find ways to connect clubs, players and volunteers.
This initiative is fully subsidised by the Victorian Government until at least the end of 2025, ensuring that no financial burden is placed on participating clubs. In addition to administration support, participating clubs will gain access to additional GippSport supported programs and initiatives, including Sport 4 All, Gippy Girls Can and Game Plan
As this program continues to grow, GippSport will create more hub and club based opportunities for sports clubs to access administrative services throughout Gippsland.
