Part / Full time (0.8 -1.0 EFT negotiable)

An exciting opportunity exists to join GippSport as part of our Place Based team working across various offices including Traralgon, Sale & Bairnsdale.

This recently vacated position will contribute to the development, implementation, coordination and delivery of programs and projects across East Gippsland, Wellington & Latrobe Council areas. The position also supervisors the Program Officer- East Gippsland and Wellington.

Through collaborative working with our key partners in the sport, active recreation and community development sector across Gippsland we will implement actions identified through our SRV Together More Active Funding and the VicHealth Regional Sport Program and other key funding arrangements.

Reporting to the Manager: Sector Development & Consulting, this opportunity is ideal for an individual with experience and is looking to develop in sport & recreation program delivery, project management, stakeholder engagement and with an overall passion for sport and active recreation.

Duties include:

  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders and the community to implement and evaluate relevant place-based sport and recreation programs and/ or projects.
    • Including identification of examples of best practice from other jurisdictions that we may test and trial.
  • Support the development and implementation of a range of community engagement processes to identify local themes driving participation and build capacity of the people of the community sport sector including:
    • Our clubs, leagues and associations
    • State Sporting Organisations and Councils
    • Other industry stakeholders including the Gippsland Regional Public Health Unit and Local SRV contacts.
  • Actively participate in networks and relevant meetings to improve the reach, engagement and impact of our program suites and project outcomes.
  • The position will require travel across East Gippsland, Wellington & Latrobe to facilitate after hours programs and meetings including some weekend work. GippSport offers flexible working arrangements to ensure we meet the needs of our staff and the community that we serve.
