Gippsland ‘Orange Round’ 2021

Join us for Gippsland ‘Orange Round’ taking a stand against family violence and men’s violence against women and children and showcasing gender equality in sport. It is based on United Nations Orange Day to raise awareness of and take action to end men’s violence against women and children.

In 2021 we are inviting all sports clubs across Gippsland to be a part of the Orange Round campaign which will take place on 24 & 25 July.

Challenging of traditional gender roles within sporting clubs

Raise awareness of the importance of gender equality to prevention violence against women.

Promote club gender equity work and opportunities.

2021 Orange Round Ambassadors

This year’s Orange Round campaign will include ambassadors from a range of different sports who are displaying gender equality in action and they are showcasing the positive change we want to see more of in our community.

Our ambassadors are individuals within the Gippsland Community who are demonstrating that sport thrives when we don’t restrict people to rigid gender roles. We are celebrating these people for the roles which they are undertaking.

Orange Round Resource and Information Kit

GippSport in partnership with GCASA has created an Orange Round Resource and Information Kit for Sporting Clubs.

Orange Round is a Gippsland wide initiative to encourage sports club to take a stand and help raise awareness about the incidence and impacts of sexual assault, family violence and violence against women and girls in our community. As well as, raise awareness about how we can create a community culture that promotes equality and respect.

Contact your GippSport Program Coordinator or message GippSport to discuss ways your club can be more inclusive and reach greater goals by including all members fairly in your club.

Orange Round is a partnership project with the following organisations, Gippsland Centre Against Sexual Assault, Gippsland Women’s Health and GippSport.
